The Environmental Administration is located in renovated premises in a historic building on Karl Johansgatan in Majorna, and we can offer you a workplace in development and with a forward-thinking attitude.

The Licensing Unit is part of the Environmental Administration within the City of Gothenburg. We work with supervision and assessment according to alcohol and tobacco legislation. Currently, we are about 25 employees in the unit. We have different backgrounds and educational experiences in the unit and now need to complement our team with an additional colleague who is knowledgeable in economics and investigative work. In our workplace, we support each other and have good collaboration. We continuously work to develop our operations to better meet the needs of our citizens and businesses in Gothenburg. Job Responsibilities

As an administrator in the Licensing Unit, your main responsibilities will consist of processing and investigating cases regarding permits for serving alcoholic beverages and permits for selling tobacco products. Additionally, you will plan and conduct supervision according to the Alcohol Act, the Tobacco Act, and similar products, as well as the law on tobacco-free nicotine products. Since financial suitability is a prerequisite for selling and serving alcohol and tobacco, financial review constitutes a large part of our investigations. Working hours are primarily during the day, but weekend, evening, and night shifts occur regularly in connection with supervision.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in law, economics, public administration, or similar. Previous experience in processing serving or tobacco permits is an advantage. You need a driver's license as travel is required for the job.
